My thinking here was: the new post leads to the confusing technical page, while the simple "new post" textarea sits below

The fix is not removing the button, but unifying the posting flow: show the simple composer by default and hide the technical page behind an obvious Advanced option. Keep the primary path frictionless and reserve the tech page for power users. That change would stop scaring off new contributors.
